Welcome to Noah’s Ark Preschool.

We consider it a privilege to have your family join our preschool community and to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate and happy learning environment where your child can grow and thrive.  Our staff has a strong commitment to provide the best Christian preschool experience possible for both child and parent.

Noah’s Ark has been serving the community for over 25 years.  It is a ministry of Light Of The World Christian Church under the leadership of the Ministry Team of Pastor Rob Shepitka and Pastor Paul Vidulich.  The Ministry Team oversees, encourages, and fully supports the preschool staff and operation of the preschool.

I have been the director at Noah’s Ark Preschool for the past 19 years and am very passionate about early childhood education and supporting families of preschoolers.  I love speaking to moms at local mom’s groups and also to students in the Early Childhood Education field at Hudson Valley Community College, where I  am also a member on their Advisory Board for the Early Childhood Department.  We also have a truly wonderful team of dedicated, gifted teachers who work cooperatively to provide the best possible learning experience and environment.  Together, we make a creative, experienced, positive team to serve the families and children at our school.

Please know my door is always open to hear your thoughts, answer your questions or to address any concerns that you may have.  I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child.

About Our Program

Childhood is a crucial time of development.  Although learning is a lifelong process, studies in child development reveal that the foundation of learning and formation of attitudes occur early in childhood.  Young children are in the process of developing an awareness of themselves, others, the world around them, and most importantly, their loving God.

21To accomplish these goals of discovery and growth, we have a program that actively involves the child and cultivates a child’s natural desire to learn and explore through a developmentally appropriate curriculum and a wide range of activities.  These include art, music and movement, literature, language, math, science experiences and field trips.

Noah’s Ark Preschool offers a program that is developmentally appropriate yet responsive to the varied needs, interests, and abilities of each child.  Our goals in planned learning experiences include:

  • The development of social skills by fostering positive interaction, cooperation, and an increased awareness of the feelings, interests and needs of others.
  • The development of critical thinking skills by participation in experiences that promote problem solving, classifying, planning and evaluating.
  • The development of communication skills, language and literacy.
  • The fostering of self-expression and creativity through music, art, and dramatic play.
  • The development of large muscle control through movement games and activities, use of gym equipment, and outdoor play.
  • The development of small muscle control through use of manipulative and fine motor activities.
  • The development of science and math concepts, such measuring, sorting and counting, one-to-one correspondence, graphing, and comparing.
  • A fostering of self-worth based upon the knowledge of being God’s handiwork, uniquely made for a purpose, and through an awareness of His great love.
